Chapter 9: Nothing About the House
Meredith's POV
He kissed me hard, and I could taste two years in it.
His mouth was rough and then it wasn't, and the towel fell off my hand and neither of us looked.
I got both fists in his flannel and pulled.
Timothy made a low sound against my lips and lifted me onto the kitchen counter.
The marble was cold through my skirt.
His hands were warm and big and spread across my ribs, and I felt them shaking.
"Tell me to stop," he said into my neck.
"No."
"Meredith."
"I said no. Don't you dare stop."
I got his shirt open and pushed it off his shoulders.
He was broad and brown from work, with a scar on one forearm and dark hair across his chest.
I put my mouth on his collarbone and he swore softly.
His hands went under my blouse and found my bra, and he looked at me, asking.
"Take it off," I said.
He undid it with one hand.
When he put his mouth on my breast, I tipped my head back against the cupboard and bit my lip so I wouldn't make a sound that would carry up the back stairs.
He was slow about it.
He used his tongue and his teeth until I was arching into him, until my fingers were in his hair, pulling.
"Timothy. Upstairs."
"The kitchen's fine."
"Norma's door is right over us. Upstairs."
He picked me up.
I wrapped my legs around his waist and he carried me through the dark house, up the back stairs, past Norma's locked door, kissing me the entire way.
My bedroom smelled of cold sheets and nobody.
He set me on the bed and stood over me breathing hard.
I took my time unzipping my skirt, because I wanted him to watch.
