Chapter 17: Tyson's Move
I had the .38 out of my bag before the second step landed.
Finbar was on his feet beside me, naked and blanket-wrapped, with the stove behind him throwing his shadow across the wall.
"Down here," I said.
"Hands where I can see them."
"I didn't bring a gun, love," Tyson said.
He came down out of the loft slowly, boot by boot, hands open and high.
His nose was swollen under the tape, and his smile pulled it crooked.
"You left the cellar door unlocked and your car in the garden," he said.
"I could have followed you with a marching band."
"You wanted me to run," I said.
"I wanted to see which way."
He looked at Finbar, then at the rope on the floor.
"Well, now I know about this."
