"Slowly," Dario said. "From the start."
The driver turned his cap around in his hands.
"Silvio has a man in your father's house, Mr. Dario. The valet who lays out his suits."
"He's been there nine years."
"Silvio pays him. Last night he gave Silvio the seating chart, the loft count, everything."
"Why isn't he waiting for the wedding?"
"Because the valet heard your father say the children know."
"Silvio figured you'd change the plan."
"So tonight at one, eight men come over the garden wall in Bay Ridge."
The driver swallowed.
"The valet is calling your father's guards to Red Hook at midnight on a dock alarm that isn't real."
"For what?"
"For the bride, miss. He wants you in a car before the church."
I felt the words land in my chest, one at a time.
Dario's hand closed around my arm, hard, and let go at once.
