Chapter 23: Penthouse

The penthouse door had barely closed when he picked me up.

I wrapped my legs around his waist.

He carried me across the dark living room with his mouth on my throat.

"Put me down," I said.

"No."

"I want to see the city."

He stopped at the glass wall and set me on my feet with my back to the view.

The lights of Manhattan lay at my shoulders.

He unzipped the white dress and let it fall.

I stood there in nothing but my heels and a scrap of lace.

Weston looked at me in the dark for so long that I started to laugh.

"What?"

"I'm trying to remember how I got this lucky."

"You bought a ring four days before you asked. I don't think luck had much to do with it."

"Come here, Mrs. Stratton."

"Cross-Stratton."

"Come here, Counselor."

I went.

He kissed me hard, with both hands in my hair.

I undid his tie, his shirt and the buttons at his cuffs.

I pushed the jacket off his shoulders onto the floor.

"No ceremony," he said against my mouth.

"You had ceremony this morning. Take me to bed."

He took me to bed.

I pushed him down on the edge of it and knelt between his knees.

I looked up at him as I undid his belt.

His breath stopped.

"Delaney, you don't have to."

"I know. I've wanted to since the second night, when you stood in the kitchen with no shirt on, talking about tennis."

I took his cock in my hand, hot and heavy and already wet at the tip.

I licked him slowly, from base to head.
