Chapter 21: All Four

Kenna's POV

I told Wyatt no.

I told him I wasn't choosing, and that I'd say it to all four of them at once, so no one had to hear it secondhand.

It took until Monday night to get them in one room.

They came in a line, as they'd come the first night, except that no one locked the door and no one whispered.

Dylan sat on the desk chair with his arms crossed.

Brody sat on the carpet with his back against the dresser.

Wyatt stood by the window, and Tate leaned in the doorway, with his grey eyes on me.

I sat on the bed in the white tank top and nothing else.

"I'm not choosing," I said.

Nobody spoke.

"I don't want one of you. I want all four, in this house, until the last day of August. If that's too much, you can walk out now, and I won't hold it against you."

"Define too much," Brody said.

"Brody."

"I'm asking."

"Dylan?" I said.

His jaw moved.

"I'd rather it was just me," he said. "I'm not going to lie about that."

"Then you can go."

"I'm not going."

"Wyatt?"

"I'm staying," Wyatt said, so fast the others laughed.

"Tate."

"I never left," he said.

I breathed.

"Then here's rule one," I said. "I call each of you by name. I tell you where. You do that and nothing else."

"Yes, ma'am," Brody said.

"Dylan. Over here. Kiss me."

He crossed the room in two strides and took my face in his hands and kissed me.

It was hard and furious, and I heard the others breathe in.
