The bullet hit the pavement a foot in front of my shoes and screamed off the wet stone.
A hand closed on my coat and pulled me sideways.
Enoch had me behind his body before I heard the second shot.
It took out the glass of the revolving door and spun a spiderweb across the brass.
"Down," he said, and I went down onto one knee on the wet stones, with my hand already in my pocket.
The reporters scattered, but they did not stop filming.
On the steps the families were shouting, and a dozen guns had come out at once.
The heavy man's men aimed at Lucan's, and the brothers' aimed at the heavy man's.
The whole street fell silent around the black muzzles.
Lucan stood in the road with his arm out straight and his chest heaving.
