Chapter 10: Between Them

Dale laid me on my back in the middle of the cabin's big bed and told Gunnar to lie down beside me.

"Yes, boss," Gunnar said, and did.

The room was dark except for the lamp on the dresser and the snow lit blue at the window.

Leif and Nils sat in two chairs against the wall in their towels, with their legs stretched out and their hair still wet.
