Chapter 10: The Suite
I booked the suite myself.
It was on the top floor of the hotel across the bay road from mine, with a corner balcony over the water.
I paid for it with three weeks of tips.
I wanted one room in the world that had my name on it and nobody else's.
They both came at nine, one after the other, with flowers from the same roadside stand.
Both stopped in the doorway when they saw what I had done.
I had pulled every curtain open.
The bay lay dark and silver outside the glass, and the bed was turned down.
On the nightstand I had laid out a small black vibrator, a bottle of oil and three silk scarves.
"Oh," Manny said.
"Yes," I said.
"Lock the door."
Dean locked it.
I stood at the foot of the bed in a plain white slip and nothing under it.
"Tonight I tell you what to do," I said.
"Both of you. All night."
"Whatever you want," Dean said, and his voice was already rough.
"Everything," said Manny.
I looked at each of them.
"Strip."
They stripped.
I had seen them naked in the dark, in the rain, in lamplight, but never in a bright room with the whole bay watching.
Dean was lean and scarred and perfect, with a flat belly and long hands.
Manny was broad and brown, with a big chest and thick thighs and a dusting of dark hair, and he was already hard.
Both of them were looking at me.
"Bed," I said.
They climbed onto it, Dean on the left and Manny on the right, and lay back against the pillows.
I took the first scarf and wrapped it twice around Dean's wrists, then knotted it to the bedpost.
He let me.
I took the second and did the same to Manny's.
Their hands were above their heads, and neither of them could touch me.
"Mari," Manny said, a laugh in his voice.
"I'm going to die."
