Chapter 19: All of Me
Hoyt held me up against the bedroom window with my whole weight on his forearms, and my feet did not touch the floor.
The glass was frosted on the outside and ice cold on my back.
Snow was blowing across the yard in sheets, and the power had been out since noon.
The only light in the room came from the fire in the little iron stove, and it lit his face from below.
"Dessa," he said.
"Am I hurting you?"
"No," I said.
"You're holding back."
He was inside me to the root, with my legs locked around his waist and his hands spread under my thighs.
He had carried me across the room like that, without a word, and he had not moved since.
He was breathing hard, with the cords standing out in his neck.
"I can't help it," he said.
"I've done it so long that I don't know how to stop."
"Twenty years of being careful with her," I said.
"I know. You told me."
"And then eleven years of being afraid that I'd forget how," he said.
I put my hands on his face.
"Hoyt, I'm not her," I said.
"I'm five foot two, and I turn into the biggest wolf in the county, and I'm asking you to put me where you want me."
"All of me. I want you to take all of me."
His eyes went dark.
"Say that again."
"All of me," I said.
"Hold me up, and don't be careful, and fuck me like you mean it."
"You told me on the first night that nobody earns a chair at your table in a bed," I said.
"I'm not earning anything. I'm taking."
A sound came up out of his chest that was nothing like a word.
He shifted his grip, with one huge hand under my bottom and the other flat between my shoulder blades.
He pulled me off the glass.
Then he thrust.
It was nothing like before.
He lifted me nearly off him and dropped me down.
