I sat down hard in my chair.
"She can't do that."
"She did it," Malik said.
"Those drawings are from high school. There was no company. There was a folder."
"I know."
"She can't just say I was her staff."
Dr. Farragut came out of her office with her phone still in her hand.
She looked older than she had yesterday.
"That was the Keystone chair," she said. "They're not disqualifying us."
Kelsey's shoulders dropped.
"But they're not clearing us either," Dr. Farragut said. "The complaint is on the record. The finals judges will hear both sides live, on stage, before Margin presents."
"On stage?" Brody said. "In front of everybody?"
"In front of six hundred people and a livestream."
"That's insane."
"That's the sponsor's request," Dr. Farragut said. "Vail Capital asked that the matter be handled transparently."
