"You will not tell my son what to do," the Alpha said pleasantly.
"I'm telling him nothing," I said. "He said no all by himself."
"He is nineteen."
"So am I, in a month," I said. "You've got a bad habit of deciding what that's worth."
Somewhere in the crowd, a girl said "Oh my God," very softly.
The Regent glanced at the circle of phones.
He raised one hand to the Dean, and the Dean hurried away with his lanyard swinging.
"We will finish this in private," the Regent said.
The two fathers did not speak to each other.
They simply turned together and walked to their cars.
Rhys's father paused at the door of the green truck.
"Until the solstice, my son does not see this girl," he said.
"He sleeps at the pack house, and a man of mine sleeps outside his door."
"Lucian will be the same," said the Regent. "Our people will have the carriage house watched."
