Chapter 22: Morning After

Bean slept until six.

It was the first time she had slept through with both of us in the house, and I woke to gray light and a man's arm over my ribs.

I lay still and listened to the monitor breathe.

Ryan woke a moment later. He did not move his arm.

"She's quiet," he said into my hair.

"She is."

"Is that bad?"

"It's good, Ryan. It means we get twenty minutes."

I felt him smile against my shoulder.

Then I felt something else, hard against the back of my thigh, and I rolled over.

"Already?" I said.

"I'm sorry. It's been six weeks, and I woke up with you."

"Don't be sorry. Get in the shower."

The water was hot enough to fog the glass in seconds.

I stepped under it first. He came in behind me and shut the door, and I turned around and put my palms flat on his chest.

"Last night I did the work," I said. "This morning you don't get to think."

"Tell me what you want."

"On your knees."

He went down on the tile without a word.

His hands closed on my hips, and he looked up at me with the water running through his hair.

"Mouth," I said. "Now."

He pulled my leg over his shoulder and put his face between my thighs.

I braced one hand on the wall and the other in his wet hair.

His tongue found my clit and flicked it, fast, then slow, then fast again. He knew it. He had always known it.

"There," I gasped. "Fuck, there."

He sucked, and two fingers slid inside me, and I came apart standing up, with my head against the tiles.

He did not let go until my leg began to shake.

"My turn," I said.

I pulled him up and turned him around so his back was against the cold wall.

Then I dropped to my knees.

His cock was hard and straining, and I wrapped my fingers around the base and took the head into my mouth.
