Chapter 20: The Night Before

The shower in Stefano's bathroom ran hot enough to turn the mirror white.

I stood under it with my forehead against the tile and let the warehouse run off me.

Dust, diesel, a stranger's blood on my sleeve.

My arms still felt the weight of her.

The glass door opened behind me.

Stefano stepped in, naked, with a washcloth in his hand.

"Turn around," he said.

I turned.

He washed my shoulders first, and then my back, with slow, steady hands.

He lifted my left arm and kissed the small scar on the inside of my elbow.

"Nobody touches this again," he said.

"Only me."

"Only you."

Something in my chest gave way, and I pulled his mouth down onto mine.

The kiss went deep and wet.

I wound my arms around his neck, and his cock pressed hard and hot against my stomach.

"I want you," I said. "Here."

He pushed me back against the wall, and the tile was cool against my spine.

He dropped to his knees on the wet floor.

He put one of my legs over his shoulder and licked me, slow and deep, from my pussy up to my clit.

I gasped and fisted my hand in his hair.

He sucked my clit into his mouth, then slid two fingers inside me and curled them.

"Stefano, fuck."

"That's it."

He worked me with his tongue and his fingers until my thighs were trembling and the water ran into my eyes.

I came with a cry I had to bite back, my head knocking against the tile.

He stood up, and he was shaking too.

"Bed," I said.

"Cosima."

"Now."

We left the water running.

We fell onto the sheets wet, and I pulled him on top of me.
