The cameras closed around him.

He kept walking through them.

He didn't answer any of it.

He stopped at the edge of our gravel, right where the burst peach was.

Mom still had the hose in her hand.

He turned around and faced them.

The reporters went quiet so fast.

A car door slammed down at the road.

Two men in dark suits came up the lane at a fast walk.

One of them had a phone to his ear.

I'd never seen them before, but I knew who they worked for.
