Chapter 5: Tack Room

The tack room door shut behind us, and I put my back against it and pulled him down by the front of his shirt.

It smelled of leather and neatsfoot oil and hot dust.

One bulb hung from the rafter, and a dozen saddles sat on their racks along the walls.

"Stay there," I said.

"Tilly."

"I said stay."

I put my palms on his chest and pushed.

He took one step back, which was more than I could have made him do.

He stopped with his shoulders against the wall of bridles.

His chest rose and fell.

He was looking at me with his whole attention, and the front of his jeans was already tight.

I knelt down on the packed dirt floor.

The first time, in the dark, I had been on my back with him above me.

This time I wanted to see.

I unbuckled his belt and opened his jeans, and he put both hands flat on the wall behind him without being told.

I pulled him out.

In the light he was bigger than I remembered, heavy and dark and thick at the base, and the head shone.

"You're going to kill me," I said.

"That's the plan."

I wrapped both hands around him, one above the other, and my fingers still did not meet.

I kissed the head.

He made a rough sound in his chest.

I licked slowly up the underside and back down, tasting salt and heat, and took the head into my mouth.

"Oh, Christ," Cade said.

I sank down as far as I could.

He filled my mouth and the back of my throat, and I worked my hands where I could not reach.

His hips pushed forward once and he caught himself.

"Sorry. Sorry."

I pulled off him long enough to look up.

"Don't you dare be sorry," I said. "Do it again."

He stared at me.

One of his hands left the wall and settled in my hair, so gently I barely felt it.

"Do it again," I said, and took him back in.

He pushed forward, slow, and I took him, and he groaned and did it again.

I looked up as I sucked him, and he was watching me, his jaw clenched and his eyes black.

I hollowed my cheeks.

I took him deeper, and he swore and braced his thighs.

I cupped him in one hand and rolled him gently, and his whole body jerked.

A bead of salt gathered at the tip, and I licked it away and looked up at him.

His hand tightened in my hair.

"Tilly. Tilly, I'm going to..."

I let him go with a wet sound and stood up.

"Not yet," I said. "I've got other plans."

I pulled my shirt over my head.

He watched me unhook my bra and drop it on a saddle blanket.

I pushed down my jeans and stepped out of them.

"Up," Cade said, and his voice cracked in the middle.

He took me under the arms, and I rose off the floor.

He set me down on the padded seat of a saddle rack.

The leather was cool under my thighs.

He pushed my knees wide with his big hands and stepped between them.

"Look at me," he said.

I looked.

He did not kiss me.

He slid two fingers through the wet heat of me and spread it up over my clit.

He circled, and he watched my face the whole time.

"You liked that," he said.
