Chapter 19: Daphne's Folder

Leonie's POV

Kellan came into my bathroom at nine in the morning, with a sheet of paper in his hand and no shirt on.

I was in the shower with the water running hot.

He did not say anything.

He held the paper up against the glass so I could see my own handwriting through the steam.

I turned off the water.

"You went to my lawyer," he said. "Six weeks ago."

"It wasn't supposed to be read until you asked."

"I asked."

He opened the shower door, and he stepped in with his trousers still on, and the water soaked him to the knee.

"I want you to hear me," he said. "I thought you'd leave. For months. I was waiting for the day you'd go."

"I know. I heard you think it."

"Then you heard me be wrong." His hands came up and framed my face, and they were wet and not quite steady. "I'm not waiting anymore."

I kissed him.

I kissed him hard, with my back against the cold tile and his wet chest pressed against me.

He lifted me by the thighs and set me against the wall.

"The party's at noon," I said, breathless.

"Then I have two hours."

He knelt, with the shower still running behind him, and put his mouth on me.

I braced one hand on the tile and the other in his hair.

He licked me slow and steady, and his fingers dug into my hips to keep me where he wanted me.

I came fast, with a cry I tried and failed to swallow, and he stayed with me through the aftershocks until I begged him to stop.

He got up and shucked off his trousers.

He turned me to face the wall, and he put one hand flat beside mine on the tile.

"Tell me," he said at my ear.

"Yes."

"Tell me what you want."

"You. Now. Fuck me."

He entered me from behind in one long push, and I moaned against the wall.
