Chapter 8: Hands Behind Your Head

Dominic's POV

Tomorrow was Sunday, and the message said she was to go alone to Ethan's for her things.

I had spent the evening planning how to be standing behind her when she did.

She had spent it deciding I would think about nothing else.

I had given orders to other men for twenty years, and none of them had ever told me to put my hands behind my head.

"Do it," Ariella said.

She was sitting on my stomach in the dark bedroom, in nothing but a thin gold chain.

Her curls had come loose, and her hazel eyes were wide.

She was trying not to smile.

"You want me to lie still?" I asked.

"I want you to stay where I put you."

"And if I don't?"

"Then I stop," she said, "and I put my clothes back on."

She wouldn't. We both knew it.

I knew it, and still my pulse jumped.

I put my hands behind my head.

"Good."

She said it breathless and a little proud, and it hit me low in the stomach.

She was twenty-two and barely five feet tall.

She had climbed into my car on the worst night of her life and written the rules herself.

She had told me stop in a doorway, in front of her friend, and I had obeyed her.

I hadn't known I could.

Her hands settled on my chest, small and warm.

She traced the ink on my ribs with her fingertips.

She followed the edge of the black wing to my collarbone, then went lower.

My cock jerked against her thigh.

"Ariella."

"Quiet."
