Chapter 19: Sunday Light

Liisa's POV

Sunday morning sun came through my bedroom window and lay across the bed, and Mats was asleep in it.

He slept on his back with one arm over his head and the quilt down around his hips.

The light made his silver temples shine and picked out every hair on his chest.

I propped myself on my elbow and looked at him for a while.

Then I pulled the quilt all the way down.

He was half hard in his sleep, and I took him in my hand and stroked him slowly until he woke with a groan.

"Mm," he said, without opening his eyes. "Am I dreaming?"

"Yes," I said. "It's a very good dream."

"Is it the one where you're on top of me?"

"It's the one where I'm on your face."

His eyes opened.

The gray-blue of them in the sunshine was almost clear, and they went wide and then dark.

"Say that again," he said.

"Get your head on the pillow, Captain."

He scrambled down the bed so fast that he hit the headboard with his elbow and swore.

I laughed so hard that I had to stop and hold the quilt.

"Permission to come aboard," he said, rubbing his arm, deadpan.

"Granted. Mind your wake."

He lay flat with his head in the middle of my pillow, grinning up at me.

I stood on the bed.

I took the top rail of the headboard in both hands and swung my knee across him.

I held there above his face, with my thighs open and my hair loose and my body in the full morning sun.

He looked up at all of me.

The grin went slowly out of his face and left only hunger.

"God," he said. "Look at you."

"I like it when you look," I said.

"The light's on you. I can see everything. You're so wet, Liisa."

"Then do something about it."

I lowered myself.

His hands closed on my thighs and drew me down, and his mouth met me, hot and open.
