Chapter 23: All Three
Dutch had spread two wool blankets on the flat rock beside the hot spring.
He had set a lantern on a stone, and a round tin of Bag Balm sat beside it, open.
I looked at the tin and laughed until I had to hold on to Emmett's arm.
"You planned this," I said.
"I planned it all day," Dutch said, with great dignity.
"I carried the blankets up at noon."
The steam rose off the pool in the dark and drifted across the stars.
The air smelled of sage, wet stone and sulfur.
It was warm for July, and the night was so clear that the Milky Way stood bright and thick over the ridge.
"I want all three of you," I said.
"At once. Tonight. I want to know what that's like when nobody's afraid."
Nobody said anything.
They looked at one another across the lantern, three men who had been strangers to the idea of being known.
Then Nels began to unbutton his shirt.
I undressed in the lamplight, and they undressed around me, and the cool night wind raised goose bumps on my arms.
I stood naked on the warm rock in the middle of them.
They did not wait to be told.
Nels stepped in front of me and took my breasts in both hands, and bent, and drew one nipple into his mouth.
Dutch stood behind me and wrapped his arms around my belly and kissed my neck, right under the ear.
Emmett went down on his knees on the blanket.
He lifted my leg over his shoulder, and I put my hand on his gray head.
He licked me, once, slow and deliberate, from the bottom to the top.
I shuddered between them.
Three mouths, six hands, the warm night on my back.
The pleasure rolled through me so easily that I almost came standing there.
