I kissed him until he put his hands around my waist.
Then I stepped back with my fingers still in his shirt.
"I wanted to do that last night," I told him.
Miles looked down at my hands and smiled.
"I remember," he said.
He moved closer, and I had to let myself want it plainly.
There was nobody here to turn my pleasure into a family announcement.
His hand moved from my waist to the back of my neck.
I leaned into it and kissed him again.
The emergency bag fell off the chair behind his leg.
A packet of tissues skidded across the carpet.
Miles looked down without taking his hand from my back.
"I think we've survived the first supply drop," he said.
I started laughing and had to put my forehead against his shirt.
