Chapter 14: The Fourth Line

Karin's POV

I woke to light across the plank floor and a man's heavy arm over my ribs.

The cabin window had no curtain.

The sun came straight through it and lay on the quilt, gold on his shoulder and the grey at his temple.

Amos was asleep on his stomach with his face turned toward me.

I had never seen him asleep.

His mouth was soft, and the line between his brows was gone.

I lay and looked at it for a long time.

Then I slid down under the quilt and took him in my mouth.

He woke in one breath.

"Karin."

"Good morning, trustee."

He was already hard, and he got harder.

His hand came down into my hair.

"Come up here," he said, rough with sleep. "Let me."

"Lie back."

I threw the quilt off us both and swung a knee over his chest, facing the foot of the bed.

The sun fell on his skin and on mine, and nothing was hidden.

"Like this?" I said.

He groaned out loud.

"Yes. Like that."

I lowered myself and felt his hands close on my thighs.

His mouth found me, hot and slow.

I gasped and put my forehead down against his hip.

He didn't hurry.
