Chapter 20: The Analyst
I read the line four times.
Then I showed it to Jude on Monday morning, at his desk, before anyone else came in.
"Go," he signed. "Bring your laptop. Don't sign anything."
"I can't sign anything. I'm not allowed to talk."
He laughed out loud at that, and I almost did too, and stopped myself.
I wrote back to the analyst.
I'll meet you. I'm on voice rest after surgery, so I'll type. I hear fine.
He answered in two minutes.
Tuesday, 11 a.m. The coffee shop on the corner of Market Square.
The coffee shop was narrow and loud, with a long counter and booths along the wall.
It was two blocks from the accelerator's office. I could see their flag from the window.
The analyst was already there in a front booth by the glass.
He was about thirty, in a fleece vest with the Boston firm's logo stitched on the chest.
