Chapter 7: Sit and Watch

"Hands on the arms of the chair," I said. "And keep them there."

Leighton sat in the leather armchair in the middle of the Lantern with his shirt open and his sleeves rolled.

He did what I said.

I had pushed the chair around myself, twenty feet from the long window.

It faced the tall mirror that Dot and Emmett had carried in that afternoon.

It was the first mirror in his living room in thirty-eight years.

It stood on the stone floor beside the lit city.

It showed the two of us and the black park and the gold tower beyond.

He had not looked at it once.

"Look at the glass," I said.

"I'd rather look at you."

"Then you'll look at me in the glass."

His jaw moved.

He lifted his eyes to the mirror and found me in it.

I was a woman in his white shirt and nothing else, with a small silver toy in my hand.

"You don't touch me," I said. "Not one finger. If you move your hands, I stop."

"Understood."

"Say it."

"I won't touch you until you tell me I can."

I put the vibrator on the arm of the chair, and I unbuttoned the shirt one button at a time, all the way down.

I let it hang open.

In the mirror I saw my breasts, my belly and the dark triangle between my thighs.

Behind me, in the leather chair, a man's knuckles had gone white.

I climbed up onto the arm of the chair and sat sideways.

One foot rested on the cushion beside his thigh and the other on the floor.

My knees fell open.

He could see everything, from three feet away, and in the mirror, he could see it twice.

"Margo," he said, hoarse.

"Watch my hand."

I picked up the vibrator and thumbed it on.

It buzzed in my palm, a low steady hum, and I ran it slowly down my sternum and over my belly.

My skin jumped.

I drew it lower, over the soft part under my navel, and then I pressed the round tip against my clit.

"Oh," I said.

The sensation went straight through me, bright and trembling, and my head dropped back.

Leighton made a sound.

"Look at me," I said, breathless. "Don't you dare look away."

"I'm not."

"What do you see?"

"I see you," he said, low and unsteady. "I see your hand on yourself. I see how wet you are."

"What else?"

"Your thighs shaking. Your mouth open. God, your nipples..."

I slid the vibrator down, spread myself with two fingers, and held the buzzing tip right at the top of my slit.

"Tell me what you want to do to me."

"I want to put my mouth where that is. I want to lick it off you."

"Not yet."

"I want my cock in you so badly that I can't breathe."

"Keep going."

He kept going.

He told me in a low scraped voice exactly what he would do.

He would bend me over the arm of the chair and hold my hips and make me wait.

I listened to every word with a toy against my clit and my eyes on his in the mirror.
