Chapter 9: Hyung

They got home soaked, because the rain had followed them all the way down the hill.

Do-yoon stood in the hall dripping onto the stone, and Jae-wook looked at him and made a decision.

"Shower," Jae-wook said. "Both of us. Now."

"I don't need a chaperone."

"You've been crying for an hour, your lips are blue, and you bit my sleeve."

"That was your sleeve?"

"It's my coat. You bit it."

Do-yoon looked down.

There was a small ragged hole in the cuff of Jae-wook's coat, and his mouth went hot.

"I'll buy you another."

"You'll buy me nothing. You'll get in the shower."

The bathroom was white tile and black fixtures, and the shower had a head the size of a dinner plate.

Jae-wook turned the water on to scalding and stood back.

Do-yoon took off his wet clothes slowly, folding each piece.

Jae-wook watched him do it.

When Do-yoon was bare, Jae-wook started on his own clothes, and Do-yoon watched back, because he could.

The shirt came off, then the damp waistcoat, then the trousers.

Jae-wook was a long brown stretch of muscle, broad at the shoulder and thick in the thigh.

He had a pale tan line at his hips from swimming trunks.

Do-yoon had never really looked at him in the light.

"Stop staring," Jae-wook said.

"I'm looking."

"Look in the water."

Under the spray, steam rose around them in a hot cloud.
