I took the phone.
He kept one hand on it with mine, so it wouldn't shake.
Through the salon's back door, Mom was counting down from ten, and thirty people were counting with her.
"Three! Two! One!"
The salon screamed.
On Lennon's phone, the little gray box turned into a picture.
Captain's porch. The lemon tree.

"Bus doesn't come on Sundays," he said on the screen. "You know that, right?"
Beside me, the real one said it too, under his breath.
He didn't even know he was doing it.
I watched the whole first episode with my head on his shoulder.
When it ended, the app asked if I wanted to keep watching.
"Yes," Lennon said to the phone, out loud, like it could hear him.
Someone banged on the car window.
Izzy, with her laptop held up against the glass.
"Get in here!" she yelled. "You have to see the numbers!"
We went in.
The salon was so full people were sitting on the shampoo sinks.
