Chapter 11: Every Last Inch
We didn't make it to the bed right away.
He kissed me against the study door, and I kissed him back.
Somewhere between the hall and the stairs he had to stop and lean his forehead on mine.
"Slow," he said.
"I don't want slow."
"I do."
He swept me up in his arms and carried me the rest of the way.
His bedroom was gray with rain.
He set me on my feet at the foot of the big bed, and for a moment we just stood there.
I wasn't angry anymore.
I was something much more dangerous.
I reached for the hem of my sweater, and he caught my hands.
"Let me."
He lifted the sweater over my head, slowly, and let it drop.
He unhooked my bra with two fingers.
He looked at me in the gray light, and he didn't touch me, and I felt that look.
"I've hurt you," he said. "I'm going to spend however long it takes making that up."
"Don't talk about it."
"Then let me show you."
He pushed me back onto the bed and followed me down.
His mouth found my collarbone, then my breast, and I arched into it.
He moved so slowly that it made me crazy.
He kissed every inch of my ribs, my stomach, the soft place under my navel.
When I tried to hurry him he pinned my wrists above my head with one hand.
"No," he said. "I'm not rushing you today."
"Luciano-"
"You'll take what I give you."
"Then give it to me."
He laughed softly, against my skin.
He peeled off my jeans and my underwear in one slow pull.
He knelt between my knees and kissed the inside of each thigh, and I trembled.
"You're shaking."
"It's your fault."
"I know."
He put his mouth on me.
