Chapter 8: Against the Study Door

I opened the study door without knocking and shut it behind me.

Torin stood at the window with his back to the room and both hands braced on the sill.

He didn't turn around.

"Go back to the east wing," he said.

"No."

"Linnea, I told you. Not with a lie between us."

"Then tell me one thing that isn't a lie." I leaned against the door. "Do you want me?"

His shoulders shook once.

"Yes," he said, to the glass. "God. Yes. Every second since the hall."

"Then turn around."

He turned.

His eyes were gold, and his face was raw, and the front of his jeans was tight and obvious.

I crossed the room and grabbed his shirt in both fists.

"I don't care about the lie right now," I said.

"I care that you're shaking and I'm wet and my wolf won't shut up."

He made a sound I'd never heard from a person.

Then his right arm locked around my waist, and he spun me and pinned me against the study door.

His mouth crushed down on mine.

It was nothing like the cellar. There was no stopping in it.

He kissed me with his tongue deep in my mouth and his hand fisted in my hair.

I climbed him with both arms and both legs.

The door shook in its frame.

"Tell me what you want," he said against my jaw.

"Everything."

"Say it plain."

"I want your cock, Torin."

He growled, and the sound went straight between my legs.

He tore my sweater over my head and my bra went after it, and then his mouth was on my breast.

He sucked my nipple hard, and I cried out and dug my fingers into his hair.

His teeth grazed me. His tongue circled and flicked, and I felt every pull of it low in my belly.

"Your skin," he said roughly. "You've no idea. You've no idea what you taste like."
