The first van was parked at the end of our lane by ten.
By noon there were six.
They lined up along the ditch where the Queen Anne's lace grows, and every tripod faced the stand.
Mom didn't open it.
She said peaches could rot for one day.
I sat at the kitchen table with the blinds shut and watched my phone.
I shouldn't have.
"Row F" was the number one song in the country by Monday night.
Girls were making videos to it in their kitchens, mouthing the words with a peach in one hand.
"She's at the peach stand at five a.m."
Somebody had found our stand on a map and pinned it.
Somebody else had found my senior yearbook photo and put it next to Jasper at the Silver Mic Awards.
The caption said, "Her vs. the man she thinks she dated."
The comments were worse than the town page had ever been.
"A lookalike wrote you ONE song and you think you're engaged."
"His manager literally said she's a fan. Let it go, peach girl."
