Chapter 5: Davis's Coat on the Chair
The kitchen was my grandmother's kitchen, with a black-and-white floor and a marble island as long as a rowboat.
Davis's tweed jacket hung over the back of a chair.
I looked at it for a moment.
Then Auden turned me around by the shoulders, and I stopped looking at anything but him.
"Take your coat off," he said.
I let it fall.
"The dress."
I unzipped the green dress at the side and stepped out of it.
I stood in the afternoon light in my bra and underwear, in the kitchen of the house I'd been lied to in.
I wasn't ashamed of one inch of myself.
He took me in with his eyes.
My belly, my hips, my thighs, the soft heavy weight of my breasts in the cups.
"Christ," he said, reverent.
"You like it."
"I'm going to like it all night."
He undid his own tie and jacket.
I watched every button.
He had a wide chest with a dusting of dark hair running down to a flat belly, a scar along his ribs, and a faint tan line at his waist.
I wanted to put my mouth on every part of him.
"Come here," I said.
I took his belt in both hands and undid it.
His breathing changed.
I unbuttoned his trousers and pushed them down with his briefs, and he sprang free, heavy and ready, the head already glossy.
I looked up at him.
His dark eyes were fixed on my face.
"You said last night I'd have to ask," I said. "I'm asking."
"Ask for what."
"I want to taste you."
I sank to my knees on my grandmother's tile.
I took him in my hand first, both hands, because there was a lot of him.
I stroked from base to tip, slow, and watched his stomach muscles flex.
I leaned in and licked the underside, from root to head.
He swore in a low voice and put his hand flat on the island.
"Again," he said.
I did it again.
I closed my lips around the head and sucked, gently, and tasted salt and heat.
I took more of him in.
His hand slid into my hair, not pushing, only holding, and I heard him breathe in through his teeth.
"That's it," he said. "Open your throat for me. Slow."
I breathed through my nose and let him sink toward the back of my mouth.
I gagged once, eyes watering, and pulled back with spit running down my chin.
"Good," he said. "Good girl. Do it again if you want."
I wanted to.
I wanted to be good at this for him.
I took him deeper the second time.
The third time deeper still, my hands on his thighs and his hand tightening in my hair.
I hollowed my cheeks and bobbed.
I looked up through my lashes at his face, at the strain in his jaw and his eyes gone black.
I felt a pulse of power go right through me and settle between my legs.
"Lenora."
