Chapter 24: Dinner

At midnight the kitchen was dark except for the light over the stove.

I came down in the robe, with the iron keys in the pocket.

Dario was already there, leaning on the steel island with his arms folded.

"You said eight in the morning," he said.

"I said what I wanted at eight in the morning."

"I've been thinking about it all day.

"The thin capo talked for an hour about his brother's debt, and I heard none of it."

"Did you give him what he asked?"

"I told him to ask my wife."

I laughed, and crossed the tiles, and he did not move.

I stopped in front of him and let the robe fall off my shoulders.

Under it I wore the collar and nothing else.

He looked at me, and a muscle moved in his jaw.

"Turn around," he said.

"No. Tell me what I do."

His eyes flared.

"Hands on the island. Face the window."

I put my palms on the cold steel and looked out at the black sea.

I heard his belt, and then I felt him against my back, hot and hard through his trousers.

His hand slid around my throat and took hold of the silver ring.

"Mine," he said into my ear.

"Yours."

"Say what you want."

"I want you to spank me first."

"How many?"

"Until I tell you."

The first one landed with a crack that rang in the kitchen.

I cried out, and the heat bloomed where his palm had been.

"More."

He gave me more.

His hand came down hard on one side and then the other, and each one drove me forward against the steel.

I pushed back into every stroke.

"Good girl," he said. "Look at you. You asked for it."

"I did."

"Say it again."
