The photographers had found the atelier before the sun came up.
I stood at the edge of the window, out of the lamplight, and counted nine of them on the sidewalk.
Corbin came up behind me with two mugs of coffee and stopped when he saw the glass.
"Don't stand there," he said. "They can see your shadow."
"They've already got my shadow."
I turned the phone so he could read it.
Monique's post had gone up at six, a long-lens video taken from the building across the street.
It showed his window, the lamp behind me, and the shape of a woman pulling her sweater over her head.
The caption said, "The Big Wife says she is done waiting." She waited about four days.
Eleven million views, and the number climbed while I watched.
