Chapter 5: Moonwell
Si-hyeon tried the kitchen wall at midnight.
A chair stood against it, exactly where the Demon had said, with a folded cushion on the seat.
Si-hyeon looked at that cushion for a long time.
Then he tried the east gate instead, and the guard was asleep, and Si-hyeon stepped over his legs.
He made it fifty paces down the mountain road before a very large shadow stepped out of the pines.
"You ignored the chair," said the Heavenly Demon.
"I don't take charity from the enemy."
"You took my hand last night."
"That was different."
"Was it?"
The Demon didn't wait for an answer.
He picked Si-hyeon up under the arms and put him over his shoulder, and Si-hyeon beat on his back, which did exactly nothing.
"Where are we going?"
"Somewhere with a door that locks from my side."
Si-hyeon should have felt like a prisoner.
He felt like a sack of wet rice being carried to a bath.
The Moonwell was a cave behind the north wall of the keep, lit by a hundred small red lanterns floating on the water.
A hot spring steamed in a basin of black stone.
The Demon set Si-hyeon on the ledge and began to undress him, and Si-hyeon let him.
He swatted the Demon's hands once, for form.
"I can do it."
"I know."
"Then why are you doing it?"
"Because I want to."
The Demon peeled Si-hyeon's shirt up and his ink-stained trousers down.
For the first time, Si-hyeon stood naked in front of him in the light.
Nobody had ever looked at him like that.
He was lean and pale and nothing special.
He had a scar down one rib from a sparring accident, and legs that were only good for running.
The Demon looked at all of it.
He looked as if Si-hyeon were a treasure someone had dug up and handed him in a box.
"Don't," Si-hyeon said.
"Don't what?"
"Don't look at me like that. I'm plain."
"Yes."
"You said so yourself. On the stairs."
"I did."
Then the Demon took off his own robe, and Si-hyeon forgot what he'd been saying.
The Demon was a wall of muscle, scarred in a dozen places and brown from the sun.
He had a chest Si-hyeon could have lain down on.
His cock stood hard against his stomach.
Si-hyeon looked at it, then at the water, then at his own hands, and thought very clearly that it was never going to fit.
"Get in," the Demon said.
Si-hyeon got in.
The water came to his ribs and to the Demon's waist, and the lanterns lit the Demon's shoulders from below.
The Demon sat on a submerged ledge and pulled Si-hyeon onto his lap, facing him.
Si-hyeon's knees went either side of the Demon's hips.
The Demon was so big that Si-hyeon's thighs stretched wide to straddle him.
The head of his cock pressed up against the cleft of Si-hyeon's ass.
