Chapter 16: The Tie

I pulled the last loop of Brendan's black tie tight around Marek's wrists and knotted it to the middle bar of the iron headboard.

He lay stretched out on the white sheets with his arms over his head, naked, and he watched me do it.

It was three in the morning on the third floor, and the streetlight lay across his chest.

"Pull," I said.

He pulled.

The tie held, and the iron bar rang once and went still.

He could have snapped that bar with one hard jerk of his shoulders.

He lay there with his bound hands open above his head and let me look at him.

"It's a good knot," he said.

"I know. My father taught me. He tied up boats."

I sat back on my heels beside his hip and looked at the biggest man I had ever known.

A strip of black silk held him down because he chose to let it.

His chest rose and fell.

The long scar down his ribs was pale in the light, and his cock lay thick and heavy against his belly, already filling.

"You don't get to touch me," I said.

"No."

"Not with your hands. Not with anything. You lie there and you take what I give you."

"Yes," Marek said, low.

"And I haven't forgiven you," I said.

"I know."

"Good. Keep knowing it."

I bent over him and put my mouth on the scar.

I kissed down the long line of it, slowly, from his armpit to his hip bone, and I felt him shiver under my lips.

His skin was hot and tasted of salt.

I took my time.

I kissed every rib, and he held his breath on every one.

When I reached the dark line of hair below his navel his stomach was shaking.

"Kathleen," he said, hoarse.

"Quiet."

I moved down the bed and knelt between his knees.

His thighs were as wide as my waist.

I put a hand flat on each and spread them, and he let me, and the muscles jumped under my palms.
