He set me on top of the sea wall at Pleasure Bay with my skirt around my waist and my coat open.

My underwear hung from one ankle, and he stood between my knees.

It was two in the morning, and the bay lay black behind me.

The concrete was ice under my bare thighs.

A plane came in low over the water, its lights blazing, and the roar of it shook the wall.
