Chapter 22: Alpha's Bed

Torin's POV

I shut the lodge door, and the bolt slid home under my hand.

Brynn stood in the middle of the dark hall with the moon coming through the high window.

The silver on her arm was still faintly lit.

"Upstairs," she said.

"Which room?"

"The big one. His."

"Brynn."

"Mine," she said. "It's mine."

I followed her up the stairs three steps behind, and she knew it, and she didn't turn around.

The Alpha's room ran the whole width of the lodge.

There was a huge bed, a stone hearth, and a window onto the ridge.

She lit the fire herself.

Then she faced me and began taking down her braid, slowly, with her eyes on mine.

"You knelt on the dais," she said.

"I did."

"In front of everyone."

"I'd do it again."

"Do it now."

I went down on both knees on the rug in front of her.

Nobody had made me.

I think that was what undid me, with the firelight on her face and her hair loose.

She stepped close and put her fingers in my hair.

"Take my clothes off," she said.

I took her boots off, and her jeans, with my hands shaking.

I kissed the inside of her knee, and her thigh, and the crescent of her hip.

I drew her sweater up and over her head and let it fall.

She stood naked above me with her hand in my hair.

The silver line glowed from her wrist to her collarbone.

"Look at you," I said.

"Not yet. You first."

She sat on the edge of the big bed and pulled me up by my shirt.

She took it off me and unbuckled my belt.

I stood in front of her hard and aching.

She put her mouth on my cock without any warning at all.
