Chapter 17: Plan B
They met at Ji-seon's apartment in Hannam-dong at noon.
It was a bright white flat with a leather couch and a wall of books.
A cat sat on a stack of scripts and refused to move.
Jang had brought a box of pastries and a face.
Ji-seon poured coffee.
Tae-oh sat on the end of the couch with his hands on his knees.
He was stiff and pale and perfectly composed, and Ye-won knew exactly why.
She had put a vibrating plug in him herself that morning, in his dressing room.
It was a small black one, with a slim remote the size of a lipstick.
Ye-won held the remote in her coat pocket with her thumb on the switch.
"I'm not going to forgive you in an afternoon," she had told him, while she slicked the plug with lube.
"But I'm going to use you. You're going to sit through a whole meeting with this in you."
She had patted his cheek.
"And you're going to be useful."
His eyes had been enormous.
"Yes, director."
Now Jang cleared his throat.
"The Seorin's security chief called me last night. He has the footage."
"Is it real?"
"The stairwell camera runs on a motion sensor. The clip has a time stamp. Forty minutes."
"What does he want?"
"Forty million won."
"And Ma?"
"Ma has offered him sixty. To delete it."
