Chapter 23: The Claim

"Yes," I said.

He did not move from the doorway.

"You're sure."

"Jasper, get in here before I change my mind."

He crossed the threshold and shut the door behind him.

I stood up from the Alpha's desk, and he caught me around the waist and lifted me onto it.

Papers slid off the edge and hit the floor.

He kissed me hard, with his hand fisted in my hair and my legs open around his hips.

It was just his mouth, and mine, and the wolf under my breastbone going quiet and warm.

"I've wanted to do this in your father's chair since the feast," he said against my throat.

"It's not his chair anymore."

"I know." He bit the edge of my jaw. "That's why."

I laughed, and the laugh broke into a moan when his hand slid under my shirt.

He pulled it over my head and his mouth closed over my breast.

I arched into him.

My fingers found his belt, and I got it open and his zipper down.

He groaned into my skin when I wrapped my hand around his cock.

"Calla."

"Look at you."

"Don't."

"You're so hard." I stroked him slowly, and he shook. "You've been like this since the door."

"Since the ring."

I pulled him closer by the shirt.

"I'm scarred, Jasper," I said, because I had to say it.

"My wrists, my neck. You'll see them every time."

He took my face in both hands.

"I've watched those scars heal every day since the gate," he said. "I want my mouth on every one."

He did exactly that.

He took my right wrist and kissed it, and then the left.

Then he knelt, pushed my knees apart and put his mouth on my pussy.

I came apart quickly, with one hand knotted in his hair and the other flat against the wall.
