Chapter 6: The Tub
The water was hot enough to sting, and the air above it was thirty below.
I sat astride Axel's hips on the cedar bench with the water to my breasts and my arms around his neck.
Over the black spruce on the far shore the sky had started to move.
It was green first, a pale ribbon that wavered from one end of the lake to the other.
Then it deepened and spilled, and there was red along the bottom edge.
"Look up," Axel said.
"I'm looking at you."
"Look up, Talya."
I tipped my head back.
My wet hair streamed down my spine, and the whole sky poured over us.
I laughed out loud.
His hands slid under the water and gripped my hips.
I felt his cock between us, hard and heavy against my belly.
I rose on my knees and reached down and guided him to me.
"Slow," I said, because I wanted him to hear that I could still say it.
"Slow," he said.
I sank onto him.
The water made everything easier and everything stranger.
I felt the stretch, and the heat inside the heat, and the weight of him gone almost to nothing under the surface.
He filled me in one long push.
We both groaned, and the sound ran out across the ice.
"Oh, fuck. Oh, that's good."
"Yeah?" he said.
"That's so good."
I braced my hands on his shoulders and started to ride him.
In the water I could move how I liked.
I went up on my knees and down again, long and slow, with the hot water lapping at my ribs.
He did not need to hold me up.
He held me anyway, one hand on my hip and one low on my back.
"You feel so good," he said. "God, you're tight."
"Say it again."
"You feel so good, Talya," he said.
"Not that. Tell me what you see."
He looked at me.
The aurora laid green on his face and his beard and his wet shoulders.
His eyes were very dark.
"I see a woman who walked out of a fire," he said.
"Who looked at two hundred people and told the truth."
"And?" I said.
"Who sat in my truck and didn't cry."
"I cried on the rug," I said.
"After. Not in front of him."
I rocked down hard, and he caught a breath.
"I see the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, sitting on my cock in the snow," he said, rough.
"And I'd like to do whatever she says."
The words went straight through me.
I clenched around him, and he swore.
He bent his head and took my nipple into his mouth, just above the waterline.
The cold air made it tight and the heat of his mouth made it unbearable.
I fisted my hand in his hair.
"Yes. Like that."
He sucked harder and switched to the other, and I rode him faster, breathless, with the sky running red over his shoulder.
"Does it bother you?" I said. "How small I am?"
