Chapter 8: Sunday Again

On Sunday morning I woke before the alarm and he was already awake.

He lay on his side in my bed, watching me, with the sheet around his hips.

"You're staring."

"Yes."

"Why?"

"You said no why, remember?"

I pulled his head down and kissed him.

It was slow this time.

I hadn't known he could be slow.

He rolled me onto my back and kissed my mouth and then my collarbone and then the soft place under my breast.

I let him.

I had my fingers laced in his hair, watching the ceiling, when his hands settled on my thighs and spread them.

"Teo."

"Let me."

He kissed the inside of my knee.

Then the inside of my thigh, slow, with his stubble dragging over my skin.

I stopped breathing.

He put his mouth on me, and I heard a sound come out of my throat that I didn't recognize.

He licked me in long, flat strokes.

Then he circled my clit with the tip of his tongue until my hips lifted off the mattress.

"There," I gasped. "Don't stop. Teo, don't."

He groaned against me, and I felt it all the way up my spine.

He slid two fingers inside and curled them, and sucked my clit gently.

I came with a shout that rang off the slanted ceiling.

He kept his mouth on me through every aftershock, until I pushed at his shoulder, laughing and breathless.

He crawled up the bed and lay over me.

He looked wrecked.

"Allegra," he said.

He said it.

"Allegra."

I pulled him down and he pushed into me, and we moved together slowly, forehead to forehead, in the gray light.
