Chapter 11: Final Exam
"Wrists," I said.
Ashton lay naked on his back across his own bed with his arms stretched over his head.
He looked at me.
"Sadie."
"Give me your wrists."
"What are you doing with that?"
"It's your apron," I said.
It was the leather one he wore in the shop, scarred and stiff, with long ties that hung down from the waist.
I had taken it off its hook in the garage an hour ago.
I wound one tie around his right wrist, twice, and knotted it to the bedpost.
My hands were steady.
I surprised myself.
"This is a bad idea," he said.
"You can pull out of it whenever you want."
"I know I can."
"But you're not."
He looked at the knot.
He looked at my face.
His chest rose and fell, slow and heavy, and his cock lay hard and flushed against his stomach, twitching with each breath.
"No," he said hoarsely. "I'm not."
I tied the left one.
Then I stepped back and looked at him, stretched out on the quilt.
His big arms were pinned above his head.
A thrill went through me that I felt in my teeth.
It was Sunday afternoon.
White light poured through the window, hot and bright.
Keeva would be home in six days.
I had made myself a promise, and I meant to keep it.
"This is the final exam," I said.
"The what?"
"You've taught me everything. Today I'm showing you what I learned. You're not allowed to touch me."
"Sade."
"Not once. Not until I say."
"I can't."
"You can," I said, and I climbed onto the bed and knelt over his hips. "You're so good at holding still."
