Chapter 10: Day Forty-One

Anthony didn't tell me no.

He stood in front of his desk with the lamp behind him, and I watched him try.

His mouth opened. His hands closed. His throat moved.

"Lizzie," he said, and it came out rough.

"That isn't no."

"I know."

"Then come here."

He crossed the space between us in two steps and kissed me.

It was nothing like the plaza.

It was slow and deep, and he took his time.

I knew he had thought about it every night for five weeks, because I had.

I pushed my coat off my shoulders and it hit the carpet.

He backed me against the edge of the desk.

His hands pulled my sweater over my head, and then his mouth was on my throat.

"Tell me what you want," he said against my skin.

"You."

"Be specific."

"I want your mouth on me. I want you to fuck me on this desk."

My voice shook.

"I want to stop waiting."

He made a low, rough sound and lifted me onto the wood.

My bra came off. He cupped my breasts in both hands and ran his thumbs over my nipples until I arched.

Then his mouth closed over one of them, hot and wet, and I gripped his hair.

"Anthony."

He sucked harder. His other hand slid down my stomach to the button of my jeans.

He peeled the denim and my underwear down my legs, and dropped them on the floor with my sneakers.

I sat naked on his desk in the lamplight. He was still fully dressed.

He looked at me for a long moment.

"Look at you," he said, and his voice cracked.

He sank to his knees between my thighs.

I felt his breath first, against my pussy, and my whole body clenched.

"You're already wet," he said.

"I've been wet for five weeks."
