Chapter 10: Busan

"I want you to stay until morning," Seung-ho said into his collarbone. "Every night I can."

"That's what you want?"

"That's all of it, to begin with."

Ha-jun stayed.

By the next weekend, he had stayed in 1204 on six nights out of seven, and nobody but Min-seok knew.

On Saturday they flew to Busan for the concert.

The arena held eleven thousand people, and they screamed for two and a half hours.

Ha-jun came off the stage at ten-thirty with his throat raw and his shirt soaked through.

Seung-ho was waiting in the wings with a towel and a bottle of water.

"Twelve minutes in the shower, then the van," he said, in his manager's voice.

His eyes said something else entirely.

The hotel was a tall glass tower over the sea.

The group had adjoining rooms on the nineteenth floor.

Seung-ho had booked the corner suite at the end, with a balcony that faced the dark water.

At midnight Min-seok knocked on the connecting door, said, "I'm asleep, don't wake me," and shut it again.

Ha-jun stood at the balcony glass with a towel around his waist.

He watched the lights of the Gwangan Bridge draw a long white line across the bay.

Seung-ho came up behind him.

"Come out," he said.

"There are cameras on the bridge."

"It's a mile away, and it's dark, and the rail is solid steel."

He slid the glass door open.

The air was cold and salty and full of the sound of the sea.
