Chapter 8: The Cut Clip
The clip had come back overnight.
It was shorter this time, six seconds long, and it showed Ha-jun's face going hard as he snapped, "Move!"
It did not show the girl behind him, or the three steps she was about to fall down.
By morning it had two million views, and the caption said, "ARCLIGHT's center screams at staff."
Ha-jun sat on the edge of Seung-ho's bed in a towel and stared at his own face.
"I pulled her back by the sleeve," he said. "She was going to hit the floor."
"I know."
"I'll post the real footage myself."
"No."
Seung-ho stood at the counter in a white shirt and a loosened tie, drinking black coffee from a mug.
He had an odd, calm look.
"If you post it, it's you defending yourself," he said. "If the girl posts it, it's the truth."
"What girl?"
"The fan who filmed from the front row. She's got the whole thirty seconds on her phone. I found her account at four this morning."
"You didn't sleep."
"I slept two hours."
Ha-jun put the phone down and looked at him.
Seung-ho's shirt had a smear of toothpaste on the cuff.
