Chapter 9: Decide
Ha-jun used the brass key at nine o'clock.
He let himself into 1204, turned on the lamp, and sat on the end of the gray bed with his hands on his knees.
He had never been so nervous on a stage.
He had showered and put on only his black jeans and nothing else, and he had thought carefully about what he would say.
At nine-forty, the lock turned.
Seung-ho came in with his jacket over one arm and his tablet in his hand, and stopped dead in the bedroom doorway.
His eyes went over Ha-jun: the bare chest, the silver hair, the key sitting in his open palm.
"You're in my bed," he said.
"I decided."
"What did you decide?"
"Put the tablet down."
Seung-ho set the tablet on the desk.
"Hang up your jacket."
He hung the jacket on the chair.
"Take off your glasses."
Seung-ho took them off, folded them, and laid them beside the tablet.
Ha-jun's voice shook only a little.
"Come here and stand in front of me."
Seung-ho crossed the room and stopped between his knees, the way Ha-jun had stood in front of him last night.
He looked down, and for once there was a question in his face that he did not hide.
"What now, Ha-jun?"
"Now I undress you."
Ha-jun's fingers went to the knot of the gray tie.
He drew it slowly out of the collar and let it drop, then opened the shirt button by button from the top.
Seung-ho's chest rose and fell under his hands.
He pushed the shirt off the broad shoulders.
He ran his palms down the warm skin, over the old scars on the forearm and the dark line of hair below the navel.
Seung-ho held completely still.
His hands hung at his sides, and Ha-jun realized he was waiting to be told.
It sent heat straight through him.
"Hands behind your back," Ha-jun said.
