By nine the next morning, Dalton had four cameras and a dozen reporters in the Pavilion lobby.
Bev found me at the ED desk and held her phone out without a word.
The invitation said the Everhart family had news about its missing son.
"He didn't waste any time," she said.
"Come on.
I want to see his face."
We stood at the back, behind a folding table of coffee.
The glass hall was full of light and the portrait of Niles hung on the far wall in its gold frame.
Dalton stood under it at a lectern, in a fresh charcoal suit, with his hands folded.
He waited for the room to quiet.
"Thank you for coming on such short notice," he said.
"Last night my family received the answer to eleven weeks of prayer.
My cousin Niles is alive."
A sound went through the reporters.
Cameras clicked.
