Celia rang my doorbell when we'd agreed she would.
I opened it and found my sister carrying a small plant.
"It doesn't need much attention," she said.
"I thought you'd appreciate that."
I took it and stood aside to let her in.
She stopped just inside my living room, looking around properly.
I had moved the sofa nearer the window since her last visit.
There was a book on the arm and a coffee cup beside it.
Celia reached for the cup before she'd taken her jacket off.
"Leave it," I told her.
"I can take it through," she said.
"I'm still drinking it," I told her.
She put it down and looked toward the kitchen.
A tea towel hung from the oven handle.
She began folding it in her head before catching herself.
