"Hold still," the stylist said, "or I'll pin your ear."
Do-hyun held still.
It was Thursday evening on the thirty-ninth floor of the Gu Entertainment tower.
Do-hyun stood on a box in a small dressing room while two women fought over his collar.
Mirrors ran the length of every wall.
In them stood a thin boy in a black suit that cost more than his university fees.
His hair was slicked off his forehead, and the mole under his left eye showed for the first time in years.
"It's the cheekbones," one of the women said. "Look at the cheekbones. Mr. Gu, you're a genius."
"I'm aware," Woo-jin said, from the door.
The women looked up, went pink, and left at a run.
Woo-jin shut the door behind them and turned the lock.
He leaned against it and looked at Do-hyun for a long moment.
"Stop," Do-hyun said.
"I haven't done anything."
"You're looking," Do-hyun said.
"It's allowed."
Do-hyun stepped off the box.
"Tell me again what I'm doing tonight."
"You're the face of our autumn campaign. A new model, nineteen, discovered by the CEO himself in a convenience store. You smile, you stand beside me, you say nothing."
"Is that what the board thinks?" Do-hyun asked.
"It's what the board will think."
"And what do you think?"
"I think," Woo-jin said, "that a man who is watching your dorm will be watching the newspapers, and I would like to see his face."
