Chapter 12: The Blackout
The nor'easter came in over the bay at nine o'clock.
By ten he had me on the living room rug with my legs over his shoulders.
Rain hit the front windows in sheets.
The wind shook the old glass in its frames.
The three lamps in the room swayed on their cords and threw our shadows up the walls.
"Hold your knees," Levan said.
I held them.
He had my hips tipped up off the rug and my ankles crossed behind his neck.
He knelt between my spread thighs with his hands braced beside my head.
He was inside me to the root.
I could feel him in my belly, in the place where I had never felt anyone, thick and slow and hot.
"Is that too deep?"
"No," I said. "Stay there."
He stayed.
He rocked in tiny movements, just an inch out and an inch in.
Each one pressed against some bright spot that made my toes curl.
"You're beautiful on the floor," he said. "Your hair's all over the carpet. Your breasts are shaking every time I move."
"Do it harder."
"Not yet. I want to see what it does to you."
He looked down at me.
He took his time.
His eye traveled from my face down my throat to my breasts, my belly, and the place where we were joined.
Then it came back to my face.
"Your skin's pink all the way to your hairline," he said. "Your mouth is swollen. You've bitten it. There's a little line of sweat between your breasts."
"Levan."
"There's a small mark on your hip from the stairs," he said. "I did that."
"I liked it."
"I know you did."
He pulled out slowly, until only the head of him was inside me, and I whimpered, and he drove back in.
