Chapter 7: Her Turn
I made him lie down.
It was eleven at night.
He had come home from a fourteen-hour day with grey under his eyes and his hands still smelling of surgical soap.
I took his bag off his shoulder and put it on the floor.
I took his shoes off.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Taking my turn."
"Mina."
"Lie on your back. Hands on the pillow."
He looked at me for a long moment, and then he did it.
His arms went up over his head, his fingers curling around the wooden slats, and his chest rose and fell under his shirt.
I stood at the end of his bed in the dark and unbuttoned it myself.
One button at a time, from the collar down.
I peeled the shirt open and ran my palms across his skin.
I touched the hard slopes of his shoulders and the muscle of his abdomen.
I felt him shudder under me.
"You're not allowed to move," I said.
"Is that a rule?"
"It's the only rule."
"Then I'll try."
"You'll do better than try."
His mouth curved.
I pulled his belt out of the loops, slowly, listening to the leather hiss, and set it on the nightstand.
I undid his zipper with two fingers.
His cock was already hard, straining against the cotton, and I palmed it through the fabric and watched his hips lift.
"Still," I said.
He lowered them.
I pulled his trousers and boxers down, and he lay there bare and flushed and magnificent in the light from the street.
I took my own clothes off slowly while he watched.
