Chapter 17: Between Floors
"Stopped it," I said.
"On purpose." He took his hand off the panel. "Tell me to start it again."
"No."
"Claire."
"I said no."
I took two steps and was against him, and my hands were already in his vest.
He caught my mouth with his.
It was nothing like the first night, nothing like the roof.
He kissed me hard.
His hands came up under my blazer, and they were everywhere at once.
They went to my waist, my ribs, the small of my back, and I realized they were the hands he hadn't let himself use when I was shaking in front of him.
"You said you wouldn't," I said into his mouth.
"I said I wouldn't touch a patient."
"And a married woman."
"You're neither," he said. "Not in here."
He pushed me back against the mirrored wall and the metal rail bit into my spine.
I didn't care.
I pulled his shirt out of his trousers and put my palms flat on his stomach, and he hissed.
He tore my blazer off my shoulders and dropped it on the floor of the elevator.
My blouse followed.
He pulled the cups of my bra down and took my nipple into his mouth, and I made a sound that bounced off the walls.
"Quiet," he said against my skin, "or I'll have to cover your mouth."
"Do it."
He did.
His hand closed over my lips, and the other pushed up my skirt.
His fingers found the edge of my underwear and dragged it aside, and when he touched me, I was drenched.
"Fuck," he muttered. "You've been like this since the lobby."
I nodded against his palm.
He pushed two fingers inside me, slow, and curled them, and my knees went.
